Lindsay Lohan Calls Paris Hilton A "Grunt", Apologizes
|
Lindsay Lohan today apologized for a misunderstanding that she claims happened earlier this week. Thronged by paparazzi leaving a hotel party that friend Paris Hilton apparently was attending, she was asked if she fought with Hilton that night. Caught on tape in a video snippet that was posted Thursday on YouTube.com, Lohan simply called her friend and fellow actress Hilton "a grunt". Misunderstood as a four letter word insult, a friend in the back seat of Lohan's SUV quickly added, "she's kidding."
"That other word is certainly not what I said," stated Lohan today, "Paris and I are really close friends and I would never refer to her in that way... that word is disgusting and it's not even in my vocabulary. I really do want to apologize for letting the cat out of the bag, though. Paris had confided in me about her plans to enlist, and I just sort of let it slip. It was supposed to be this big secret surprise next week. I'm sorry Paris!"
Elliot Mintz, a publicist for Ms. Hilton confirmed that she indeed had enlisted in the United States Marine Corps earlier in the week. "She thought long and hard about it," stated Mintz, "and she says that she was attracted to the discipline that the Marine Corps had to offer. Paris was also motivated by her struggles with her celibacy pledge. We also received assurances from a recruiter that Paris' role in the Corps after boot camp would likely be merely public relations in nature without combat exposure."
Mintz also stated that Paris had been motivated by the recent gaffe from Senator John Kerry. She wanted to set an example, that, like Kerry, even people of privilege and wealth had an obligation to their country. Mintz also stated that Hilton's enlistment agreement stipulated that she would be eschewing the traditional basic training at Parris Island for a more personalized and less intensive stint at Hilton Head Island.

Lohan Slams Car Crash Reports
|
MEAN GIRLS star LINDSAY LOHAN has hit out at reports she was involved in a car crash with the paparazzi on Monday night (06NOV06) and insists the entire incident was fabricated. Media reports claimed the star was chased by a photographer who slammed into the back of her Mercedes after she left Hollywood hot spot Hyde at around 2 am.
But Lohan insists, "No accident. Nothing ever happened. I swear to God. My mother called me and so did my friend. "My mom said, 'Are you OK? What happened? Did you get into a car accident' and I said, 'No, I never got into any sort of accident,' because I didn't.
"My friend thought I was in the hospital. I got calls from people I haven't spoken to in five years! "At this point there's nothing left for people to make up about me and no other stories that they can manifest so they're just repeating old ones. "I'm waiting for them to say I'm pregnant or something crazy."

Kevin Threatens To Sell Honeymoon Sex Tape?

Pop singer Britney Spears' estranged hubby Kevin Federline has reportedly threatened to go public with the couples honeymoon sex tapes if she fails to make a hefty payout to him and hand custody of their two sons.
Britney fears the raunchy footage will destroy her wholesome image unless she caves in to his demands for a £16million payoff and custody of their children Sean Preston, one, and Jayden James, eight weeks.
She is worried she will become infamous like Paris Hilton - whose home-made sex video, was put on the internet by her ex and became one of the world's most popular sites.
The home-made video is believed to show the naked couple enjoying an uninhibited range of love-making and sexual games. It was made during the first weeks of their relationship two years ago when they were holed up in one of the exclusive bungalows at the Beverly Hills Hotel in Los Angeles.
"At the time the two of them were in the honeymoon stages of the relationship and couldn't keep their hands off each other. They did nothing all day but have sex—and play the odd game of chess. They were insatiable and they believed they would be together forever.

Shar Jackson Speaks Out About Spears And Federline Split
|
Actress Shar Jackson is speaking out about Britney Spears' divorce from her ex-boyfriend Kevin Federline.
The former "Moesha" star is the mother of two of Federline's children, Kori, 4, and Kaleb, 2.
Jackson insists the couple should put their differences aside and come together for the sake of their children.
She tells Us Weekly, "I hope that they are mature enough to realize that their differences come in second to the needs of their children and that it is no longer about them as individuals, but about maintaining a healthy friendship/relationship for the sake of their children."
Jackson recently told news show "Inside Edition" that she saw no obvious signs of discord between the couple the last time she saw them on Halloween at Federline's album release party.
She says, "They seemed happy to me. (Britney) gave me a hug ... and told me I looked cute."
Jackson insists she doesn't feel any bitterness toward Federline, who left her for Spears while she was pregnant with their second child, and actually feels sympathy for him.
She says, "He's such a nice guy. He's made some mistakes, but everybody else doesn't have the whole world pointing fingers at their mistakes."
Jackson adds, "I don't know what their situation is or why he wants to get custody of his children other than the fact that he loves them.
"Maybe, it goes deeper than that. Maybe it's because of all the press about her mothering."
When asked why the public seems to be so happy about the couple's split she adds, "I think part of it is because whether you know him or not, he has become almost a national joke."

Britney Heading To Miami To Work On New Album
|
Britney Spears is bidding New York City farewell and heading to Miami, where she plans to continue working on her new album over the weekend, sources tell PEOPLE.
Spears is recording her first original album since 2003's In the Zone in studios in Miami, Los Angeles and New York City. In August she described her upcoming CD to PEOPLE as "cooler than ever, fun, upbeat and sexy."
The pop star, who filed for divorce from Kevin Federline on Tuesday, has been in New York since last week. On Monday, she made a surprise visit to the Late Show with David Letterman. The following day, she took an ice-skating spin around Rockefeller Center, dined out with friends and spent hours at the Sony Music Studio.
And just as Spears is on the move, so is her estranged husband. Michael Sands, a rep for Federline's lawyer, Mark Vincent Kaplan, tells PEOPLE that Federline is holding up fine despite the fact that the divorce filing "caught Kevin totally by surprise. I think Kevin's doing pretty well, considering this disastrous situation. But I believe something good will come out of this."
Federline, who performed at Chicago's House of Blue'son Wednesday night, is en route to Baltimore, Md., where he'll continue touring to promote his debut album, Playing with Fire, a source tells PEOPLE.
The aspiring rapper's House of Blues performance packed the venue with a standing-room-only audience though tickets were being given away free.
As for Federline's pursual of sole custody of his children with Spears, Sean Preston, 1, and Jayden James (born Sept. 12), Sands says, "Kevin's interested in having as much time as he's allowed with the kids, so he wants full legal and physical custody, with visitation rights for Britney." He added, "If there were no kids involved, it would be easy, but it's going to take time to iron out a lot of different issues."

Teen Charged In LA With Stalking Pop Star Hilary Duff
|
Prosecutors on Tuesday charged a New York teenager with stalking pop star Hilary Duff.
Maksim Myaskovskiy, 18, pleaded not guilty to the felony charge at his first court appearance Tuesday. At the request of prosecutors, his bail was raised to $1 million.
A Nov. 22 hearing was set to determine whether there was enough evidence to order him to stand trial.
Myaskovskiy was arrested Friday by Manhattan Beach police after he made several phone calls from a hotel room to a private security firm employed by Duff, Sgt. Steve Tobias said.
An investigator with the firm told police Myaskovskiy threatened to harm Duff at an event she was scheduled to attend.
"He made physical threats against both Ms. Duff and her boyfriend," Tobias said.
Duff and her family sought an order of protection against Myaskovskiy on Oct. 12, alleging in court documents that he tried to make contact with her by visiting her neighborhood, the neighborhood of her boyfriend - Good Charlotte singer Joel Madden - and her mother's home.
Court documents said Myaskovskiy "admitted to being 'obsessed' with her, has stated his intention of purchasing a weapon, and has threatened to kill himself and to engage in dramatic actions to get her attention ... and that Joel Madden stands in their way."
Duff is best known for starring in the long-running Disney Channel show "Lizzie McGuire."

Duff Praises Bulgarian Eating Habits

Singer/actress HILARY DUFF has fallen in love with Bulgaria - thanks to the quality fruit and vegetables on offer. Duff, who is currently filming in the Eastern European country with JOHN CUSACK, was impressed by the Bulgarians' attitude towards fresh organic food. She says, "They really love salads! "I like it a lot because, since Bulgaria doesn't use pesticides, their vegetables are super fresh. "In America, an apple can last a week because of preservatives and pesticides, but in Bulgaria, after a day or two, it will be old."
