Interview: Orlando- "Pirates Of The Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest"
|
Orlando Bloom, often private and relatively shy, walks into a Beverly Hills hotel room more buoyant than usual. Perhaps he has World Cup soccer on his mind, rather than pirates and stardom. "England's going to win, right?" he says, too loudly for comfort. But Bloom has reason to be pleased with himself, football madness aside. He recently escorted girlfriend Kate Bosworth to her Superman Returns premiere, giving her and his closest competition high marks. "It's great and I'm very proud of her."
Then when not promoting another blockbuster, the young Brit is relaxing during this Northern hemisphere summer. "I've been in London, hanging out, catching up with friends. It's been good, beautiful weather and watching the football." Yet as upbeat and relaxed as he is, Bloom is setting sail opposite heavyweights Johnny Depp and Keira Knightley in a second instalment of Pirates of the Caribbean, laughingly admitting that it was easy for the actor to rediscover his inner Pirate once again. "This time my character goes from being a straight-laced kind of upright stick in the mud to becoming more of a bit of a pirate in this one, thankfully. It was kind of like discovering my inner pirate for the first time in a way."
In the latest Pirates adventure, Captain Jack Sparrow discovers he owes a blood debt to the legendary Davey Jones, Captain of the ghostly Flying Dutchman. With time running out, Jack must find a way out of his debt or else be doomed to eternal damnation and servitude in the afterlife. Making matters worse, Sparrow's problems manage to interfere with the wedding plans of Bloom's Will Turner and Elizabeth Swann [Knightley], who are forced to join Jack on yet another one of his misadventures. Bloom says that playing a pirate is yet another way to fulfil the actor's childhood fantasies.

Bloom And Bosworth In 'Seasons Of Dust'
|
Production Weekly says that Orlando Bloom (Pirates of the Caribbean movies) and Kate Bosworth (Superman Returns) will both star in a Depession-era drama entitled Seasons in Dust.
Written and to be directed by Tim Blake Nelson, the film is about Janey (Bosworth) who takes refuge with a family after her grandfather’s suicide. When the son tries to rape her, she injures him badly. Not knowing if he is alive or dead, Janey flees and ultimately meets Ricky (Bloom), a dashing crook who is also on the run. With the law and two hired hitmen on their trail, Janey and Ricky engage in a frantic cross-country journey, trying to stay one step ahead of their pursuers.
Production is set to begin mid-July in Oklahoma and New Mexico.

Orlando Bloom says Keira Knightley is a great kisser.
|
The hunky actor smooches with the British screen beauty in new movie 'Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest' and admits he was blown away by her smooching skills.
He said: "She's a great kisser and a lovely and very funny person. She's absolutely gorgeous."
Despite Orlando's gushing praise for Keira's kissing technique, he admits he did find it "peculiar" locking lips with the 'Pride and Prejudice' star
He added to Britain's Top of the Pops magazine: "Kissing scenes are a bit peculiar. It's like you play at it."
Last week, Orlando was allegedly caught kissing and "dirty dancing" with 'Romeo and Juliet' actress Claire Danes.
Guests at the lavish Raisa Gorbachev Foundation party in Northamptonshire, England, looked on in astonishment as the pair got extremely close
One onlooker said: "He was kissing her neck and grinding against her. He didn't seem to care who saw it."
Both Bloom and Danes have long-term partners. The 'Lord Of The Rings' actor is dating 'Superman Returns' star Kate Bosworth, while Danes, 27, has been with her 'Stage Beauty' co-star Billy Crudup since 2004.
Speaking of Kate Bosworth, the hollywood beauty felt she was all wrong for the role of Lois Lane in Superman Returns until director Bryan Singer personally convinced her to sign on. The star was terrified she would lose any privacy she had if she starred in such a big budget film - even though pal Kevin Spacey, who plays Lex Luthor in the movie, recommended her for the role.
She explains, "When I met with Bryan, I was really freaked out because I had never been in anything so big. I didn't know if I'd be completely giving up my privacy. I sat down with him and I said, 'I think you're going to make an amazing film, and I'm such a huge fan of yours, but I don't really feel like I'm ready for something of this magnitude, so good luck and thank you very much. I appreciate your time.'"

Jolie And Pitt Baby Shower Photos Stolen
|
Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have had a series of personal photographs stolen, including intimate pictures from a baby shower in Namibia.
Lawyers for the couple sent an email to various US media organizations on Sunday night informing them that "a digital memory card containing a number of personal copyright protected photographs" of Brad, Angelina and their children have been stolen and offered for sale.
According to website TMZ.com, the photos, taken in Namibia, "include images from a private baby shower."
The email was sent by the couple's powerhouse law firm Lavely & Singer and threatens that anyone who publishes the photos "will be liable for substantial compensatory damages, punitive damages, and injunctive relief."

Eva Longoria To Star In Jessica Simpson's New Music Video
|
The 'Desperate Housewives' actress will play the blonde star's friend in the promo for upcoming single 'Public Affair'.
The video is being shot by 'X-Men: The Last Stand' director Brett Ratner, and features Jessica rollerblading and having fun with a group of female pals Eva said: "I know there will be an 80s theme."
Jessica recently denied claims that 'Public Affair' was about her divorce from husband Nick Lachey.
The track contains the lyrics, 'All the girls stepping out for a public affair / All night, let's rock cause the party don't stop / You know the cameras come out for a public affair', but the singer-and-actress insists it is not about Lachey.
Her spokesman said: "Everything she does is a public affair but this is about having fun."

The Spice Girls Reunion Update
|
The Spice Girls are considering reuniting to raise money for a children's charity.
The formr girl group - Posh Spice Victoria Beckham, Ginger Spice Geri Halliwell, Sporty Spice Mel C, Scary Spice Mel B and Baby Spice Emma Bunton - are in talks about making a comeback for Britain's Children In Need appeal.
A friend told Britain's Sunday Mirror newspaper: "Children In Need would love them to do it - and they're thinking about it. After all, it's for charity."
Another source told Britain's The People newspaper: "It was Emma's suggestion that they should do this after she appeared on the 'Who Wants To Be A Millionaire' special for Children In Need last year.
"The Spice Girls did loads for charity in their heyday including the Comic Relief single 'Who Do You Think You Are?'"
The group - who split in 2001 - have been at the centre of comeback rumours since last year.
It was thought they were reforming for the Live 8 concert in London last July, but the reunion never took place.

McFly Rocker: I Spent Night With Lohan
|
McFly drummer Harry Judd claims he spent the night with Lindsay Lohan.
The British rocker says it happened after he partied with the 'Mean Girls' beauty last year.
He is quoted in Britain's News of the World newspaper as saying: "I did spend the night with her."
The couple met on the set of Lindsay's movie 'Just My Luck', after film bosses asked McFly to shoot a cameo role.
When they went out clubbing one night the stunning actress apparently asked Harry to kiss her.
He added: "I was really nervous because she is so successful and talented. I thought, 'This is awesome'.
"Then she invited me back to her hotel. I left at eight next morning."
He added: "She still isn't admitting it."
Meanwhile, Lindsay's pals have claimed she is addicted to spending money.
They say she splashes out thousands of pounds on shopping sprees - and forked out more than half a million on clothes last year alone.
A source is quoted in Britain's Daily Mirror newspaper as saying: "Lindsay gets a real adrenalin high from spending money and buying expensive things."

Paris Hilton's No Fur Vow
|
Paris Hilton has vowed to never wear fur again - after being shown a video of animals being skinned alive by Heather Mills McCartney.
The blonde star was made to watch the gruesome PETA made film by the devout animal rights activist - who is currently divorcing husband Sir Paul McCartney - during a recent evening at her home.
The video apparently showed dogs being skinned alive for their fur, and as the stomach-churning images were shown Heather explained to Paris that even fake fur can contain dog and cat hair.
Paris' spokesman, Elliot Mintz, revealed: "Paris does not wear fur, nor will she wear fur described as artificial now she knows it came off the backs of animals. She is grateful to Heatther for educating us on this terrible subject."
Paris isn't the only celebrity joining the anti-fur brigade.
Pamela Anderson is planning to strip naked in a shop window - as part of a protest against the trade.
The former 'Baywatch' actress is to pose nude in the window of fashion designer Stella McCartney's London clothes shop for PETA.
Pamela, renowned for her work with the group, and Stella, the step-daughter of Heather, are both hopeful the stunt will draw attention to PETA's campaign to ban the use of fur in fashion.

Ashlee Simpson Loves Her Small Breasts
|
Ashlee Simpson is happy with her small breasts - and isn't jealous of sister Jessica's bigger bust.
The singer says she likes her modest assets but can understand why women want to increase their bust.
She told Britain's Marie Claire magazine: "I love my boobs. My sister always grew up having a larger chest. Whether you have big boobs or small boobs, there are always pros and cons. If you have bigger you want smaller, and vice versa."
Ashlee isn't the only star happy with her small breasts.
Nicole Richie recently admitted she loves having a modest chest - because she doesn't need to wear a bra.
The 'Simple Life' star has confessed she used to want to be curvy until she realised she could do without underwear.
She said: "I think there are things that everyone wants to change about their body.
"I used to want a bigger chest, but now I like being flat. Clothes fit better, and I don't really need to wear a bra."

Hilary Duff insists punk rocker boyfriend Joel Madden will have to put a wedding ring on her finger before he gets the chance to sleep with her because she plans to stay a virgin until her wedding night.
The 18-year-old pop star/actress has revealed she has never had sex and is upset when fans automatically assume she and Good Charlotte star Madden are bedmates.
She says, "It's harder having a boyfriend who's older because people just assume. But (virginity) is definitely something I like about myself. It doesn't mean I haven't thought about sex, because everyone I know has had it and you want to fit in."

Hilary Duff Pops Over To Canada
|
Sweet starlet Hilary Duff will be making her way across the border for the second time this year for a couple of Canadian dates.
After spending all of January and wee bit of February in the country touring behind her latest disc Duff is back for a mini Canadian tour. Most Wanted, which was released to the number one spot in the US last year, contained a mixture of Duff’s best stuff, a few remixes and a couple of original tunes written by Duff, her beau Joel Madden and his twin brother and fellow Good Charlotte bandmate Benji.
Duff and the Madden brothers’ first single “Wake Up” was Duff’s highest charting single to date.
She’ll be skipping into Canada at the end of July with a couple of shows on the East Coast and a couple in Ontario. Here are the details:

Rodriguez Has A Crush On Farrell
|
Michelle Rodriguez has confessed she has a celebrity crush on none other than bad boy Colin Farrell.
"I've got my eye on him," said Rodriguez who's character was recently killed off on the hit TV series 'Lost.' "The kind of people I fall for are free spirits, people who'll run naked on the beach with me and won't care in anyone's looking."
The Irish rogue, who used to grace the pages of tabloids on a regular basis with his debauchery, has since supposedly cleaned up his act. After reportedly going into rehab after filming the upcoming 'Miami Vice' film (which hits theatres July 28), it seems Farrell may have calmed not only addiction, but perhaps his hormones as well.
Rumour has it the 30-year-old actor fell for his 'Pride and Glory' costar, 27-year-old Lake Bell. Farrell supposedly said he's "deeply in love" with the former 'Boston Legal' actress and now whispers of wedding bells are trickling through the grapevine.

Colin Farrell & Lake Bell Engaged?
|
Bad boy actor Colin Farrell may be ready to settle down. According to a report to be published later this week in Star Magazine Farrell is already wearing a wedding band.
The LA Times New Service reported earlier that there is talk in the Irish press that the 30-year-old, Dublin-born actor may wed actress Lake Bell, 27. They met on the set of the movie Pride and Glory, which was due to finish filming last week.
And Star will give this report in the magazine on sale later this week:
Ever since the MTV Movie Awards, Colin Farrell has been seen wearing a wedding band. The buzz is that he and Pride and Glory co-star, Lake Bell may have an announcement to make.
As Star reported earlier, Farrell has been eager to make the Surface star Mrs. Farrell # 2. Lake has already been a major influence on Farrell as she has calmed him down a lot. Colin used to be a big drinker, Star will report, but now he is downing energy drinks and non alcoholic beer.
At their upcoming premiere, Colin has already requested that the bar be stocked with Red Bull and O’Douls. Sounds like true love, suggests Star.
Earlier reports claimed that Colin has purchased a home in the Hollywood Hills for close to $4.3 million. The stats - according to reports - a 4,000-plus-square-foot house with four bedrooms, 4 ½ bathrooms, a den with its own patio and panoramic city views.

Alba Takes On The Comedy Movie, Good Luck Chuck
|
Fresh off her hosting duties on the 2006 MTV Movie Awards, Jessica Alba has signed on to star in the comedy film, Good Luck Chuck, to be directed by Mark Helfrich. Helfrich, a film editor, will be making his feature film directorial debut with this romantic comedy.
Alba will be starring with comedian/actor Dane Cook who's already committed to the project. Cook plays a guy who gets a reputation for being the guy women date and break up with immediately before they find their Mr Right. But even the Rebound Man needs love. Alba will play the woman who captures Cook's heart. Filming on the Lionsgate film will start in July 2006.

Paparazzo Nabbed Near Jolie's Son
|
A paparazzo was arrested in Los Angeles Thursday after allegedly trying to photograph the adopted son of actors Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt.
Photographer Clint Brewer, 25, was attempting to take pictures of 4-year-old Maddox at a daycare center the child was attending, Pitt's publicist Cindy Guagenti said in an e-mail.
Brewer was seen hiding in bushes and photographing the church-based establishment shortly before 11 a.m. when security detained him and the property's owner made a citizen's arrest, said Lt. Crystal Miranda of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.
Deputies arrested Brewer on suspicion of trespassing and he was later released on $1,000 bail, officials said.
Jolie, Pitt and their brood returned to Malibu two weeks ago after Jolie, 31, gave birth to daughter Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt in Namibia last month. The couple have two older children, 18-month-old Zahara, adopted from Ethiopia, and Maddox, adopted from Cambodia.
Both Maddox and Zahara's surnames were legally changed to Jolie-Pitt after Pitt, 42, announced his intention to adopt the children.
